Robin Rayner and Viscera Theatre Present TIMMY ImageIn this comic two-hander from theatre and TV writer and performer Roxy Dunn (Edinburgh 2016 sell-out show In Tents and Purposes), one couple tries to overcome Peter Pan syndrome as Dunn pits eternal youth and possibility against happiness in the here and now. Paralysed by indecision, 35 year old Tim's happy to stick to the 'nice solid non-moving ground' rather than move forward in his relationship with his 25 year old girlfriend, Judith. Frustrated by his lack of commitment, she delivers an ultimatum - Tim must choose between growing up or breaking up.

With honesty and biting wit, TIMMY gives a language to the frustration, confusion and heartbreak anybody who has ever dated in the 21st century will have felt, but been unable to articulate for themselves.

Writer and performer Roxy says: "We're a generation swamped by choice. I'm interested in the idea that in trying to hold onto this abstract notion of 'possibility', you have to lose something as a result. I think you ultimately forgo happiness when you choose not to commit to anything or anyone in order to keep your options open."

Roxy is a London-based actor, writer and producer. Alongside TIMMY, which was shortlisted for the Channel 4/Oran Mor Comedy Drama award, her and her writing partner are currently developing a TV sitcom with Hartswood Films, and another with Sharon Horgan's Production Company, Merman. Her 2016 Edinburgh show, In Tents and Purposes, also produced by Viscera, received a five-star sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, transferring to SOHO Theatre and undergoing a UK Tour. She was also awarded Runner Up in the Funny Women/Comedy Central UK Short Film competition for her short film HABITS, which she co-wrote and starred in. As an actor she's appeared in several TV sitcoms, including: Top Coppers (BBC3), Wannabe (BBC3), and Babylon (Channel 4), directed by Danny Boyle.

Viscera Theatre is a new writing and comedy company founded in 2011 by Roxy Dunn and Alys Metcalf. They've produced work at SOHO Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith Studio, Assembly (Edinburgh Festival), VAULT Festival and Old Vic Tunnels. Their 2018 show, You Only Live Forever (which Roxy also co-wrote and performs in) is playing at Assembly George Square for the run of the Fringe.

Robin Rayner is an award-winning producer and general manager. Most notable productions include: The Fastest Clock in the Universe, The Dogs of War, Foiled and FABRIC which won the Fringe First Award in 2016. He is currently producing the UK tour of Iconic: A Brief History of Drag and Tori Scott is #Thirsty, both at the Edinburgh Festival this summer.
