The Glasgow Light Opera Club (GLOC) is proud to present its production of the much-loved Fiddler on the Roof at the King's Theatre from Tuesday 1-Saturday 5 November.
Starring Jonathan Procter from Carluke as Tevye and Hazel Keay from Paisley as Golde, the plot follows the struggle of Tevye and his rebellious daughters as they seek their true loves in the Russian village of Anatevka.
In this heartfelt show, the trials and tribulations of Russian culture are sound-tracked to well-known numbers including If I Were a Rich Man; Sunrise, Sunset; Matchmaker and Tradition, all of which are performed by an enthusiastic and entirely local cast.
Detailed information on the cast is available below.
The King's Theatre and Theatre Royal are pleased and proud to support local amateur productions, giving talent in Glasgow a feel for producing and performing on stages walked on by the Scottish greats as well as leading West End and Broadway stars.
James Haworth, general manager for the King's and Theatre Royal said: "I'm looking forward to welcoming back GLOC who have become very well established here at King's during the many years they have staged productions with us.
"The cast and crew put in an enormous amount of effort into preparing their productions, often going to rehearsals straight from their day job and that must take a lot of energy - it just show how dedicated they are.
"As with their previous productions of Sunset Boulevard and Singing in the Rain, I'm sure Fiddler on the Roof will be spectacular and I encourage all theatre lovers to come along and support this immensely talented local cast."
