Daisy Eagan to Star in Edinburgh Festival Fringe Production of SLEEPING GIANT Image

Tony Award-winning actress, Daisy Eagan, makes her Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in a new thriller by Steve Yockey (a writer of CW's Supernatural, MTV's Scream). Directed by Michael Matthews (director of Edinburgh Festival hit all-male production of The Bacchae) and designed by an award-winning creative team including, Cricket S. Myers (Tony Award-nominee for Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo), Sleeping Giant is a modern thriller told through a series of intimate, darkly comic, and sometimes startling vignettes about the lengths people go to when they desperately want something to believe in.

When Ryan's firework-filled marriage proposal accidentally awakens an ancient creature sleeping in a nearby lake, local residents become consumed by stories about the "thing" and the dark effects it has on anyone who touches it. Admirers descend into zealotry and obsession where mob mentality, paranoia and blind faith best common sense in a landscape that looks surprisingly close to the world in which we live today.

The cast, including Daisy Eagan (Broadway's The Secret Garden, Les Miserables), Adam Silver (Bad Jews at Ensemble Theatre, Shakespeare in Love at South Coast Rep), Katherine Skelton (Steve Yockey's Very Still and Hard to See and Wolves) and The Flash and The Vampire Diaries star, Rick Cosnett play four characters each in a script that was workshopped in Los Angeles as part of the Center Theatre Group L.A. Writers' Workshop Festival prior to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe premier production. The Festival celebrates some of the freshest and most thrilling voices in Modern American Theatre coming out of Los Angeles and Center Theatre Group's long-standing L.A. Writers' Workshop.
