DOGFIGHT Runs At Edinburgh Fringe 10-18 August Image

Award-winning theatre company Room 29 Theatre returns to the Edinburgh Fringe with the hauntingly beautiful musical Dogfight.

With a book by Peter Duchan and music from Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman, La La Land) this is a show not to be missed. Based on the 1991 Warner Brothers film, Dogfight takes audiences on a romantic and heart-breaking theatrical journey that stays with you long after the performance.

It's November 21, 1963. On the eve of their deployment to a 'small but growing' conflict in Southeast Asia, three young Marines set out for one final night of debauchery, partying and maybe a little trouble. But when Corporal Eddie Birdlace meets Rose, an awkward and idealistic waitress he enlists to win a cruel bet with his fellow recruits, she rewrites the rules of the game and teaches him the power of love and compassion.

After the success of their sold out debut production of It Shoulda Been You at the Edinburgh Fringe 2017, where the team was awarded with Broadway World UK's Favourite Musical or Opera of the Fringe 2017 award, they return with Dogfight. Director, Neil Lavin reunites with Musical Director, Steven Segaud, joined by Choreographer Rachel McDaid. Performed by an ensemble cast of talented performers from all over Scotland, this production will enjoy a limited run at theSpace: Venue 45. With an impressive score and a genuine and charming soul, Dogfight is the perfect show to see this Fringe.
