Assembly Festival 2018 is excited to announce a jam-packed programme of Children's Shows. From slapstick and acrobatics, to funky nursery rhymes and educational tales, there is something for all age groups and tastes.

For a show celebrating the power of being yourself, look no further than drag pop concert Denim: The Denim Juniors (Ages 5+) from Soho Theatre and United Agents. With extravagant costumes, and music from animated classics and party hits, expect an uplifting, dazzling show from these pop princesses.

From Off the Kerb Productions Ltd. comes Charlie Baker Presents: The Greatest Goat of All Time (Ages 8+), the world premier from award-winning comedian, singer and dancer Charlie Baker (Harry Hill's Tea Time, Dog Ate My Homework, Doctor Who) and BAFTAwinning CBBC actress Sam Battersea. A live 'Clip-Clop Hip-hop' soundtrack and a magically tuneful farmyard friend make this a fantastical rollercoaster for the whole family.

Winner of the Weekly Award for Best Children's Show at Adelaide Fringe 2018, Chores from Cluster Arts Pty Ltd. is a hilarious acrobatic show that sees two excitable brothers attempt to tidy their room! With a mix of inventive circus stunts, and interactive gags, this a giggling inducing show inspired by slapstick legends Keaton and Chaplin, suitable for all ages.

The infectious Monski Mouse Media returns after a successful run at Assembly in 2017 with Monski Mouse's Baby Disco Dance Hall. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the festival, the Spiegeltent will transform into a high-energy, bopping session for children of all ages and adults to share. Expect retro hits, pop favourites and funky nursery rhymes!

Following the success of Robin Hood (Assembly, 2017), Manhattan's Children Theatre return with If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (Ages 3+). Told from the perspective of children (with elaborately oversized props), this is a bird's eye view on all the 'joys' of parenthood.

From Korea comes The Little Musician (Ages 3+) from Brush Theatre LLC | Korean Season presented by AtoBiz Ltd. Using Korea's traditional string instrument, the Gayageum, and inventive scenery, The Little Musician is a beautiful and imaginative show that reminds us of what really matters.

Tom Flanagan with Koral Chandler returns with his worldwide hit Kaput (Ages 3+). Having trained at the Flying Fruit Circus, Kaput's silent movie inspired acrobatic comedy depicts a larger-than-life buffoon in a nonetheless poignant portrait.

A fable for older children (Ages 8+), Vagabond Productions present Meet the Little Prince! Based on the extraordinary life of explorer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the actors use puppets and mask to paint a tale of wonder, adventures and friendship.

Runner-up for the Assembly Roxy Theatre Award in 2018, The Dragon and The Whales (Ages 3+) from Modest Predicament uses puppetry, music and visual storytelling to create a lively adventure for young audiences about growing up and celebrating your differences.

Critically-acclaimed clowning duo and fringe favourites Mad Etiquette bring Captain Cauliflower and Marvin The Mischievous Mouse (Ages 3+) to Assembly Festival. A joyous physical comedy, join them as they embark on a quest through oceans and outer space, filled with both silliness and unquestionable danger.

Both educational and enjoyable, Barmpot Theatre bring Penguinpig, a fun-filled cautionary tale told through puppetry to illustrate the dangers of the Internet for children (Ages 3+).

Award-winning creators Mouths of Lions return to Assembly (after a successful run of Dr Zeiffal, Dr Zeigal and the Hippo That Can Never Be Caught in 2017) with their new show Ellie and The Enormous Sneeze (Ages 5+). A quirky and inventive Roald Dahl-esque tale featuring live music, magical mucus and ever-extendable nose hairs.

On a mission to reinvigorate the art of oral storytelling of tales of the Ancient World, Helicon Storytelling present The Battle of Frogs and Mice, an interactive tale for all ages using traditional storytelling, improvised musical motifs and toy-box puppetry.

Fringe regulars Comedy Club 4 Kids (Ages 6+) return with their popular variety show. With different line ups everyday, the best stand-up and sketch acts can be enjoyed regardless of age!
