Widely regarded as the "classic" panto of Glasgow, everything about the King's Theatre production of Cinderella is beautiful. From the traditional set doused in glitter to the spectacular costumes and the adorable ponies towing the carriage, it's a visual treat from start to finish.

Now in his fifth year of panto at the King's Theatre, Des Clarke is really coming into his own as a performer. While some of the gags have the adults in the audience rolling their eyes, the kids are shrieking with delight. Clarke guides the production throughout as Buttons, Cinderella's best friend who is not-so-secretly in love with her.

Rab C. Nesbitt duo Gregor Fisher and Tony Roper are perfectly cast as the Ugly Sisters Euphemia and Lavinia whose "badness" is comedic rather than scary. Elaine MacKenzie Ellis makes for a wonderful fairy godmother and Gary Lamont is ideal as Dandini.

Tradition is what the King's panto really has going for it. Cries of "Bring doon the cloot" summon the famed cloth from the rafters, which has the lyrics needed for a good old singalong. The brilliantly executed song and dance numbers from the cast make Cinderella the ultimate Christmas extravaganza.

Ticket information for Cinderella can be found on the King's Theatre website.
