Due to continued audience demand, Florida Studio Theatre (FST) has announced the extension of Unchained Melodies, a musical celebration of male harmony groups of the '50s and '60s. This hit music revue has become the most-attended Cabaret in FST history-over 20,000 people saw the show last season. An estimated 4,000 people will see this second limited engagement run. Now playing through March 29 in FST's Keating Theatre, Unchained Melodies takes audiences on a trip down memory lane with hits like "Blue Moon," "Save The Last Dance," and "Working My Way Back To You." Tickets can be purchased online at floridastudiotheatre.org, or by phone at (941) 366-9000.

"It is so exciting to see the enthusiastic response to the return of this very special show," said Rebecca Hopkins, Lead Developer of Unchained Melodies. "It strikes such a chord with our audience because it is a combination of some of the best songs of the 20th century and the optimism that created those songs. The doo-wop groups featured in Unchained Melodies were regular kids who made it because of their grit and talent. Their harmonies created a new type of music that continues to evolve to this day."

Audiences have called Unchained Melodies "Very entertaining," "Fabulous," and "Engaging."

Just as Sarasota audiences are excited for the return of Unchained Melodies, so too are returning cast members Nick Anastasia, Nathaniel P. Claridad, David Marmanillo, and James LaRosa.

"I am delighted to be returning to FST for this show!" said Claridad. "Unchained Melodies brought a lot of joy to the audiences in Sarasota, and I'm excited to be a part of bringing that joy to even more people."

Unchained Melodies has been extended for a third week due to popular demand. Written by Richard Hopkins and Rebecca Hopkins with arrangements by Jim Prosser, Unchained Melodies is now playing through March 29 in FST's Keating Theatre. Tickets may be purchased online at floridastudiotheatre.org, or by phone at (941) 366-9000.
