The Community Foundation of Sarasota County (CFSC) is granting Theatre Odyssey $1,500 to award scholarships for the Best Play and Runner-up play authors at the 2018 Student Ten-Minute Playwriting Festival from the Dorothy B. Templeton Fund.

Scripts will be judged by three local theatre professionals. The Best Play will receive $1,000 and the Runner-up will receive $500.

"These scholarships are the largest in Theatre Odyssey's 13-year history," said Don Walker, Theatre Odyssey's Board President. "We appreciate that the Community Foundation of Sarasota County recognizes the importance of helping us support and encourage student playwrights in developing their original works for the stage."

Theatre Odyssey's Sixth Annual Student Ten-Minute Playwriting Festival will be presented at the Jane B. Cook Theatre (FSU/Asolo Center for the Performing Arts) on February 3 and 4.
