Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota opens its 2021-22 Luncheon Series with a return performance by Cheryl Losey Feder, the popular former principal harpist of the Sarasota Orchestra, November 11, at the Bird Key Yacht Club, 301 Bird Key Drive, Sarasota. Joining Losey Feder will be her former Sarasota Orchestra colleague, violinist Daniel Jordan (who is also Director of Artist Programs for Artist Series Concerts). Losey will perform harp showpieces by some of the world's greatest harpist composers, including Grandjany's 'Fantasy on a Theme of Haydn' and Henrietta Renie's epic work 'Legende'. Jordan will join her for the beloved 'Meditation from Thais', by Massenet.

The concert begins at 11 a.m., followed by luncheon and an audience Q&A session with the artists at 12:15 p.m. Tickets are $54 and are available online at www.ArtistSeriesConcerts.org or by calling 941-306-1202, M - F, 10 - 4.

The first luncheon series concert of Artist Series Concerts season has become a musical 'homecoming' and also an exciting 'debut' of sorts. "We're thrilled to be bringing Cheryl Losey Feder back to Sarasota to charm us once again with her harp artistry," says Marcy Miller, executive director of Artist Series Concerts. "We are also equally thrilled to have Daniel Jordan making his performance 'debut' with us as our new director of artist programs. It's going to be a very happy and special musical occasion, a double delight."

For his part, Daniel Jordan couldn't be more pleased. "My first 'booking' assignment with Artist Series Concerts came up rather suddenly and unexpectedly when Emmanuel Ceysson became unavailable," says Jordan. "I thought immediately of my esteemed former colleague Cheryl Losey Feder and I am grateful to have been able to engage her on short notice. To be able to perform with her once again is the icing on the cake!"

Cheryl Losey Feder has earned distinction as one of America's leading young harpists, receiving several national and international awards while performing in diverse and prestigious venues around the world. As an orchestral harpist, she has performed with such major orchestras as the Detroit Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Houston Symphony and the New World Symphony under a roster of conductors that includes Michael Tilson-Thomas, Valery Gergiev, Gustavo Dudamel, and Yannick Nezet-Seguin. She is the former principal harpist of the Sarasota Orchestra and the Buffalo Philharmonic. As concerto soloist, she has appeared with the New England Symphonic Ensemble, National Repertory Orchestra, the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra and others. She has also been a featured artist on the classical music stations WCLV Cleveland and WUSF/WSMR Florida, and in the PBS documentary Harp Dreams.

In addition to being the director of artist programs for Artist Series Concerts, violinist Daniel Jordan is also the concertmaster of the Sarasota Orchestra and principal second violinist of The Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. He was formerly the Assistant Principal First Violinist of the Malaysian Philharmonic and a member of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach. He performs on the ex Humphreys 1695 Peter Guarneri of Mantua violin using either a Dominique Peccatte or Joseph Fonclause bow, all on loan to the Sarasota Orchestra from the Steinwachs Family Foundation.
