San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre is delighted to bring roller-skating Greek muses, 1980s-style and the original, chart-topping score of XANADU to downtown San Luis Obispo this June. This hilarious, roller skating, musical adventure rolls along to a fabulous, original hit score composed by pop/rock legends, Jeff Lynne and John Farrar. Based on the Universal Pictures cult classic movie of the same title, XANADU is hilarity on wheels, a moving, electrifying tale of endless fun that will keep audiences in stitches and lift them out of their seats. XANADU is just plain fun silly, irresistible, nostalgic nonsense with terrific music that will keep audiences humming long after they leave the theatre. XANADU runs June 10-July 3 with performances Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 pm. ABOUT THE SHOWXANADU follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time the worlds first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it's 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and hilarious chaos abounds.XANADU is directed by Kevin Harris, with musical direction by Alessandra Alcala and choreography by Kelly Fidopiastis. Costumes are designed by Jacqueline Heimel, set design (and roller rink!) is by Dave Linfield. Xanadu features the considerable talents of Cameron James Parker, Carley Herlihy, Seth Blackburn, Shannon Peters, Amanda Thayer, Lauren Moore, Taylor Hart, Isaac Capp and Ish Petersen.
