Bertolt Brecht's scene-cycle of 1930's domestic German life under Hitler is given new life and an allegorical bent by the SYHS Theatre Group. Set in a cabaret, scenes and song are interwoven to a dizzying and sinister climax. A bandstand with live jazz combo and crooners and chanteuses present popular 1930's songs as a counterpoint to Brecht's scenes depicting the paranoia and tensions of German life as Hitler's stranglehold on the German populace becomes complete.
