California's Out of the Box Theater Company Presents SPRING AWAKENING, 4/19-29

Raw energy and the wonder of youthful passion hits Center Stage Theater in Out of the Box Theatre Company's intimate black box production of Spring Awakening, playing April 19-29, 2012.

Based on Frank Wedekind's 1892 play, the rock musical, according to press notes, focuses on "a group of young teenagers caught between their sexual urges and society's contradictory teachings on the chaotic ride from adolescence to adulthood." With book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik, Spring Awakening is an exhilarating mix of morality, sexuality, and rock & roll that features hard-hitting songs like "Mama Who Bore Me," "My Junk," "Totally F*cked," and "The Bitch of Living."

The cast of Spring Awakening includes Evan Bell, Deborah Bertling, Samantha Eve, Quinlan Fitzgerald, Jessica Gotsman, Rob Grayson, Charlie Kate Harper, Ethan Hartsell, Analicia Hawkins, Skyler Jones, Maggie Langhorne, Allison Lewis Towbes, Miguel Miranda, Marc Nicolas, Daniel Russell, and William Schneiderman.
