Marin Shakespeare Company presents “Twelfth Night”
By William Shakespeare / Directed by Lesley Schisgall Currier
Is she, he or is him, her? “Well, nobody’s perfect,” as they say, but everyone is a fool for love in William Shakespeare’s gender-bending comedy. "Twelfth Night" explores desires of love amongst moonstruck eccentrics who fill the seaside island of Illyria with music, poetry, mischief and mirth. Lesley Schisgall Currier directs this comedy about shipwrecked siblings, mistaken identities and romantic interludes starring Elena Wright as Viola, Kathryn Smith-McGlynn as Olivia, Dean Linnard as Orsino and Kerel Rennacker as Sebastian. The cast also features 20-year veteran of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, actor Michael J. Hume as Sir Andrew Aguecheek and Broadway, film and television actor Daren Kelly as Sir Toby Belch.
Performances are presented outdoors 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 4 p.m. Sundays. The amphitheater opens one hour prior to show time for picnicking. Audiences are encouraged to bring picnics or purchase snacks at the Theatre Cafe. Warm clothing, jackets and blankets are recommended for evening performances. Parking is free.
