This Russian Classic is as important today as it was a century ago when first performed at the famous Moscow Art Theatre. Translated into many languages and produced around the world, many major directors in the West have interpreted this masterpiece, including Charles Laughton, Peter Brook, Andrei Serban, Eva Le Gallienne, Jean-Louis Barrault and Tyrone Guthrie.
