Enjoy a script-in-hand semi-staged reading of Marisela Treviño Orta's Basilosaurus, starting at 7:00 PM at SPARC Studio.
SPARC Theater hopes to make a difference with their second annual Science@Play reading series. This year’s programming shines a light on the climate crisis with two brand new plays!
Basilosaurus by Marisela Treviño Orta, SPARC’s newly commissioned play, will have its first public reading as the second piece in the Science@Play series. Audience members will become a part of the process, giving feedback to the playwright as she continues to polish the script. This is the second of five works to be commissioned by SPARC Theater. All five pieces, written by BIPOC playwrights, will be aided by Lawrence Livermore National Labs scientists and others to ensure they are factual and up-to-date and align with Science@Play’s mission to champion scientific discovery and truth-telling.
The Science@Play reading series will be held at SPARC Studio (2172 Railroad Ave. Livermore, CA 94550). Basilosaurus will run from November 18th – 20th, all starting at 7:00PM. Tickets are $20.00 and are available for purchase at www.SPARCtheater.org or at the door.
