Opening the 51st season of Woodminster Summer Musicals is the international smash hit Mamma Mia, based on the songs of ABBA. The charming, funny story follows the adventures of a young woman who, before her own wedding, wants to discover the identity of her father. She invites three men from her mother’s past to her wedding on the Greek island where she was conceived twenty years ago, but she doesn’t tell her mother until they get there. This live musical is performed outdoors in historic Woodminster Amphitheater in Oakland’s beautiful Joaquin Miller Park by a large cast and live professional orchestra. Come early and enjoy a stroll along hillside trails, the views of the bay and cities below, and a picnic before the show. Performances July 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, at 8 pm
