Let’s Face the Music
…and dance sing, laugh, and cry. Music speaks when words cannot: music can soften the wounded heart, soothe the anxious soul, and mend the broken spirit. Music inspires us to create, rest, love, lose, embrace, and grieve… It inspires you to just be.
No stranger to the stage at the Nikko Hotel, Carol returns to share the many emotions music evokes in all of us. From heartache to laughter and anguish to joy, music conveys what feelings sound like.
With her elegant and very personal style, Carol brings fresh interpretations of vintage tunes, and popular and rarely heard gems to her loyal audience. She’s a regular artist at the former Empire plush room, Razz room, Martuni’s, Octavia Lounge, and residencies at Club One Restaurant, Savanna Jazz, and Zingari Ristorante, along with venues throughout California. Carol has honed an intimate and sensual sound that transports her listeners back in time and has developed a knack for bringing music to life.
Accompanied for this performance by the elegant Ken Muir, her collaborator, musician, and friend, they are joined tonight by Chuck Bennett on bass and Bob Blankenship on drums. To quote Carol, “I am so very blessed, not only by the wonderful musicianship but by the true friendship” of these gentlemen.
