Ensemble Continuo, an up-and-coming classical chamber choir based in the Bay Area, will perform Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem. This mid-20th-century masterpiece mixes Gregorian chant influences with French impressionist harmonies, resulting in an ethereal sound. This concert will take place at Oakland's Cathedral of Christ the Light, a stunning venue with a 5,298 pipe organ that the East Bay Times called a "musical jewel." David Jonies, director of music and organist at Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral, who has also held positions at the Westminster Cathedral in London, will play the cathedral's famous organ.
Let the music transport you as we pay tribute to this masterpiece. Don't miss this unforgettable experience!
