World War II, the shifting role of women, and the beginning of the civil rights movement: the 1940s and 1950s brought innumerable changes to American culture. On Broadway, creative teams such as Rodgers and Hammerstein mirrored these cultural changes with a new type of narrative storytelling, changing musical theater forever. Let the beautiful music and powerful stories of the Golden Age of Broadway sweep you off your feet.
