Santa Cruz Shakespeare, a nationally recognized professional theater company in Santa Cruz County with deep local roots that go back more than 40 years, invites you to experience Shakespeare’s As You Like It, under the trees and stars of the Audrey Stanley Grove in Santa Cruz’s DeLaveaga Park this summer. As You Like It is a tale of banishment and escape to the forest of Arden, where a merry band find unity, love, and rebirth. The ensemble includes the melancholy Jacques (“All the world’s a stage…”), the vigorous Orlando, and the brilliant Rosalind. Amidst a hurly of comedy, disguise, and discovery, love is sought, debated, and eventually learned. As You Like It is a hilarious journey into the heart of human foibles and frailty, showing us the myriad ways that love can rebuild the world. As You Like It runs July 13 - September 1, with Opening Night on July 19. Purchase tickets after May 1 and get more information at santacruzshakespeare.org/season-2024 Seasonal box office hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 12p.m. to 4p.m. beginning June 1.
