WICKED Breaks San Francisco Box Office Record

The Producers of WICKED announced today that the smash hit musical, currently performing at the Orpheum Theatre (1192 Market Street), has broken the one-week San Francisco theatre box office record. WICKED grossed $ 1,459,610.50 in box office receipts for the week ending February 15, surpassing the record previously held by The Phantom of the Opera. This production is a significant homecoming for WICKED, which premiered in San Francisco before casting its spell on Broadway, winning 20 major awards, including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards. Tickets are on sale now for the open-ended engagement of WICKED.

As WICKED breaks box office records, crowds gather daily at the Orpheum Theatre. A day-of-show lottery for a limited number of $25 orchestra seats will be held prior to each performance, 2½ hours prior to curtain, ticket buyers can arrive at the Orpheum Theatre box office to have their names placed in the WICKED lottery barrel where thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for these seats. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person, cash only. Each person must have a valid photo I.D. in order to participate.
