Transcendence Theatre's first offering of their concert series is "One Singular Sensation" which debuts tonight, June 27, 2014 at Jack London Historic State Park.
Director of the first show in the concert series Melissa Giattino stated, "The show will have an overlying theme featuring the song "One Singular Sensation" from A Chorus Line, however; the show will explore all kinds of sensations from sublime to ridiculous. Whether it is a huge production number reminiscent of the days of MGM musical, the transcendent performances of Astaire and Rogers, or one solo performer on the stage, there are many ways of creating magical moments."
In the Broadway show 42nd street Julian states "You're all just specks of dust in my show," yet Peggy Sawyer responds, "Yes, but if you put the specks of dust together, you get something alive and beautiful that can reach out and touch thousands of people."
This is exactly what TTC does best. This show is a night with a wide variety of music from Broadway and beyond, including irresistible Broadway production numbers, show stopping routines and inspirational moments. When theater is good, it is emotionally immersive in a way that few things are.
