Transcendence Theatre Company kicks off their 2017 Broadway Under the Stars season on June 16 with Another Openin' Another Show! celebrating the inspiring, memorable music and dance moments from Broadway and beyond.
Another Openin' Another Show! is a personal show concept for Transcendence as they mark their 10th anniversary as an arts organization. As the company reflects on its beginnings as well as looking ahead to its future, this show brings Transcendence's triumphs and challenges to the stage, exploring new beginnings, the ups and downs, and pure joy we all share on our journey through life. The show pays tribute to some of the most poignant and powerful songs that have originated on Broadway, from shows including Les Misèrables, Fiddler on the Roof, Rent, Chicago, Gypsy, and more. Celebrate Transcendence Theatre Company's sixth season of Broadway Under the Stars, empowering audiences to rise to the challenges of life's grand adventure.
The performers scheduled to appear in Another Openin' Another Show! include Amy Miller, Andrew Hodge, Aubrey Mae Davis, Beth Kirkpatrick, Brad Surosky, Colin Campbell McAdoo, Emilio Ramos, Eric Jackson, Erin Maya, James LaRosa, Jamison Scott, Jessica Lee Coffman, Lauren Sprague, Lori Haley Fox, Max Quinlan, Meggie Cansler, Natalie Gallo, Nick Kepley, Nikko Kimzin, Sierra Lai Barnett, Stephan Stubbins, Taylor Markarian and Tim McGarrigal.
Transcendence's Broadway Under the Stars, now in its 6th season, is an award-winning series of spectacular outdoor Broadway-inspired concerts featuring performers from New York and Los Angeles-artists who often come to the Sonoma stage directly from recent Broadway appearances. More than a standard musical revue, each show weaves well-known Broadway and popular songs into a spectacular themed performance in the open-air 150-year-old Winery Ruins at Jack London State Historic Park.
Transcendence Theatre Company, named by USA Today's 10BEST as the #2 "Outdoor Concert Venue You Shouldn't Miss" in the United States, received four 2016 Broadway World San Francisco awards including Best Special Theater Event for the fifth consecutive year.
All events begin with picnicking amongst the vineyards of Jack London's historic Beauty Ranch meadow-including gourmet food truck fare, an assortment of local wineries pouring, and pre-show music-casting a magical spell of communal festivity and summer celebration. Sunset heralds the start of the show and the stage begins to sparkle as dusk descends and the Broadway stars sing and dance under a starlit nighttime sky.
