Three South Bay Friends Perform in 3D CABARET Image

Three veteran South Bay performers, who share friendship and a love of singing (as well as a first name), will present "3D Cabaret" at Mountain View's Pear Theatre on Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3. This special performance will feature a wide range of showtunes - solos, duets, trios, and quartets - performed by the Davids as well as by selected guests. Tickets ($20 each) can be purchased by visiting www.thepear.org or calling (650) 254-1148.

David Mister has been a Bay Area resident since 2004 and currently works for Apple. A prolific stage performer, he has been seen in musicals with Broadway By the Bay, Foothill Music Theatre, CMTSJ's Marquee Productions, South Bay Musical Theatre, Ray of Light Theatre, Palo Alto Players, Los Altos Stage Company, Hillbarn Theatre, and Sunnyvale Community Players. He's also performed with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, including on their Grammy-winning recording of Mahler's 8th Symphony. The Mountain View resident will be performing "Later" and "Chip's Lament," as well as other songs.

David Murphy has performed in 30 shows around the San Francisco Bay Area over the past decade, and he's produced, sound designed, or marketed many more. Previously a member of South Bay Musical Theatre's board of directors, and formerly the production manager at Palo Alto Players, Murphy enjoys the business of theater as much as he loves performing it. Being very tall and singing very low, he has played the role of Lurch in "The Addams Family" no fewer than three times (Palo Alto Players, Cabrillo Stage, and Berkeley Playhouse). He has also been onstage locally with Children's Musical Theater San Jose, Los Altos Stage Company, West Valley Light Opera (where he won an ERMA for Best Character Actor), Palo Alto Players, and South Bay Musical Theatre. The San Jose resident will be performing "Happy/Sad" and other songs.

Dave Leon is a Bay Area native, born and raised in San Jose and currently living in Santa Clara. Working by day for the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors, he is frequently on stage on the evenings and weekends, having performed at South Bay Musical Theatre, Sunnyvale Community Players, Santa Clara Players, Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre, Pintello Comedy Theater, Limelight Actors Theater, Custom Made Theatre Company, Dragon Theatre, Cabrillo Stage, and Palo Alto Players. Additionally, he is a musician who has played in numerous ensembles over the years and has dabbled in stand-up comedy and voiceover work. Leon will perform "If I Were a Rich Man," "When Words Fail," and other songs.

Special singing guests include well-known local singing and acting talents Mike Rhone, who will join the Davids in singing "In the Same Boat" and "Four Jews in a Room Bitching"; Dana Cordelia Morgan, singing "Cry For Me" with the Davids; and Christina Bolognini, who joins Morgan for "If Momma Was Married." Musical direction and piano accompaniment is provided by Bob Sunshine (the "honorary David").

A portion of the proceeds from "3D Cabaret" will go to support arts education in the Bay Area, including the new Pear Seeds youth theatre program, and others.
