In the summer of 2017 Jeff Coffman of Thousand Oaks, Ca. jumped at the opportunity to make his stage debut, participating in Transcendence Theatre Company's "Be A Star" fundraising campaign.
"I waited until the last 30-seconds of bidding. It was very important to me to win the bid and get on stage with my daughter," said Coffman.
With his strategic last minute bid, Coffman won a walk-on role in Transcendence Theatre Company's "Broadway Holiday Spectacular," a music revue presented in early December, 2017 on the main stage at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, in Santa Rosa, Ca.
Winning the bid also gave Coffman the opportunity to perform in Sonoma County's largest performance venue alongside his daughter, Jessica Lee Coffman - a professional actress, singer and dancer and resident artist of Transcendence Theatre Company. Coffman was featured as the "big spender," in a spoof about holiday shopping. With a chorus line of seven Transcendence Theatre Company actresses (including his daughter, Jessica) Coffman's cameo drew cheers and wild audience applause as he demonstrated natural stage presence and comedic talent in the musical parody of the hit tune "Big Spender," from the Broadway musical "Sweet Charity."
"I was scared to death. I don't know how Jessica does it. It was so exciting and fun. But, I don't think I will ever quit my day job," said Coffman.
