The RRazz Room Will Relocate in 2013

The RRazz Room, San Francisco's premier nightclub, has officially announced its relocation to a new space with a new name "Live at the RRazz." Partners Robert Kotonly and Rory Paull revealed today that the celebrated club will move to its new digs in January, the historic Cadillac Building at 1000 Van Ness Avenue. The new spot will feature an expanded menu by renowned San Francisco chef Bronson Macomber, upgraded service, additional seating, convenient parking, easy public transportation access, and even more exciting programming than ever before. The 7:30 PM and 10:30 PM shows on December 31 (New Year's Eve) by acclaimed jazz vocalist Kim Nalley will conclude its residency at The Hotel Nikko. KIM NALLEY - the acclaimed jazz vocalist - will present her new show "Let The Good Times Roll" from December 26 through December 31. Her special New Year's Eve show will include party favors, a champagne toast at midnight, a countdown to 2013 and a post-show buffet. Her band features Tammy Hall on piano, Michael Zisman on bass and Kent Bryson on drums. San Francisco Chronicle says "Nalley is a triple threat - a powerful blues singer, a song stylist who can put her stamp on American songbook standards and an assertively lascivious vaudevillian with an entire book of bawdy songs brimming with double entendres. Kim Nalley has pipes to burn and works the stage like she means it." Nalley has been called "the best singer, any style, I have heard in years" says Phil Elwood of the San Francisco Examiner. She is knows for her 3 ½ octave range that can go from operatic to gritty blues on a dime, projection that can whisper a ballad yet is capable of filling a room with no microphone, and the ability to scat blistering solos without ever losing the crowd's interest or the intense swing.

JEFFERSON STARSHIP will open on January 17, 2013 to officially christen the new space. The legendary group - created by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner; and, David Freiberg, also a former Jefferson Airplane member and co-founder of the legendary Quicksilver Messenger Service - return from a nine country world tour for historic performances in San Francisco. The band, descended from Jefferson Airplane - who performed at Monterey and Woodstock, at Altamont with the Rolling Stones, and shared the bill countless times with The Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin, and whose music helped define a generation focused on civil rights, environmental awareness and anti-war activism - is set to perform the landmark 1967 recording "Surrealistic Pillow" in its entirety, as a post holiday gift to hometown fans. "Our special performances of 'Blows' and 'Pillow was so much fun and so well received in Tokyo (over Thanksgiving), we decided to bring this home to The Bay Area fans" mused Paul Kantner from his home in the city. The show will feature their repertoire of hits spanning all eras of their existence, including "Jane," "Somebody To Love," "Miracles," "White Rabbit," "Volunteers," "Count On Me," "Find Your Way Back" and many more. The acclaimed Cathy Richardson, star of Love, Janis - entering her sixth year - will front the band. The Imperial Messenger Service - reprising the beloved canon of Quicksilver Messenger Service - will open the show. This is the debut of this side project fronted by David Freiberg and his wife Linda Imperial.
