Ray of Light Theatre, San Francisco's non-profit musical theatre company, presents the first show in their season of new musicals that explore the distant past. TRIASSIC PARQ brings dinosaurs, show tunes and sex changes together in this inventive new show that will have you laughing and crying all the way back to the prehistoric era.

TRIASSIC PARQ follows a pack of sexually evolving dinosaurs in a certain Spielberg-inspired amusement park as they struggle with love, faith and science. When one female T-Rex suddenly turns male, the entire pack must question their identity, gender and what is possible. With singing. Singing dinosaurs. Check out a short little video that explains it all. (Sort of.)

Winner of Best Musical at LA's 2013 Ovation Awards and the NY Fringe Festival 2010.

"Dinosaurs going through gender crises, questioning their faith, finding love and struggling to fit in aren't your typical musical theatre story lines, so we quickly learned to expect the unexpected with this show," said Alex Kirschner, director of TRIASSIC PARQ. "But what we didn't anticipate was just how hysterical it would be to watch a group of actors playing dinosaurs while dancing like a 90's boy band and singing about the joys of womanhood-all with dinosaur hands, of course."

Artistic director Jason Hoover adds, "As hilarious as the show is, it also asks very meaningful questions about how we identify ourselves. What does it mean to be an outcast forced away from your community, whether that community is one of religion, gender, or science? How can we be our unique selves while making those human--or dinosaur--connections we crave?"
