Berkeley Repertory Theatre celebrates the holiday season by extending the run of its new hit show: The White Snake, a magical romance from Tony Award-winning director Mary Zimmerman, will now play through December 30. Due to the demand for tickets, ssssseven performances have been added just after Christmas – including three matinees.
Berkeley Rep is delighted to welcome back a beloved artist with this hypnotic show. From Metamorphoses to Argonautika to The Arabian Nights, audiences have embracEd Zimmerman's enchanting adaptations of epic tales. Now the Tony Award-winning director casts a spell with The White Snake, a classic romance from Chinese legend. As she falls for a charming young man, a snake spirit discovers what it means to be human. But a monk objects, and the bride must unveil her magical powers to save their love. Once again, Zimmerman unwraps an exquisite gift for Bay Area theatregoers.
Tickets start at $35. Savings are available for groups, seniors, students, and anyone under 30 years of age – meaning discounted seats can be obtained for as little as $17.50.
