The Elephant Man by Bernard Pomerance opens March 25 at Masquers Playhouse in Point Richmond. A celebrated modern classic, The Elephant Man tells the true story of Victorian freak-show attraction Joseph Merrick. The renowned doctor Frederick Treves takes Merrick into his care, making him a cause celèbre. Astonishing the great and good with his intelligence and his resounding desire for love and understanding, Merrick is redeemed from a life of squalor. But is that enough for a man who longs more than anything to be "normal?" Directed by John Maio. Winner of three Tony Awards, including Best Play
