Timeless lessons for modern life are the foundation of LITTLE WOMEN - THE MUSICAL. Spreckels Theatre Company in Rohnert Park, CA presents this Broadway musical for the holiday season from Nov. 27 to Dec. 20, 2015.

Based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, LITTLE WOMEN - THE MUSICAL is directed by Thomas Chapman and features Rebekah Pearson as Jo March and Tariq Malik as Laurie.

Set in Concord, Massachusetts and New York City during the 1860s, this musical is an honest account of the classic, semi-autobiographical book written by Louisa May Alcott. The story charts the events, triumphs and changing lives of the March family sisters - aspiring writer Jo, romantic Meg, pretentious Amy and kind-hearted Beth. The musical is blended with vignettes in which their lives unfold and recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo March writes in her attic studio.

"Though often thought of as just a girl's story, 'Little Women' is so much more," said director Thomas Chapman. "The music is quite wonderful and the show has many surprises. The story takes place over several years, but key scenes in the musical take place during the holidays. The autumn and winter is often a reflective time of year and a time for family and celebration, which the March family needs especially during time of the Civil War."

Featuring a chamber trio of piano, cello and violin and a cast of notable North Bay performers and emerging talents, this intimate stage presentation offers adventure, music and memorable characters with joyous holiday inspiration for all ages.

LITTLE WOMEN - THE MUSICAL (Book by Allan Knee / Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein / Music by Jason Howland) is presented in the studio theater at Spreckels Performing Arts Center at 5409 Snyder Lane, Rohnert Park, Ca. Reservations are recommended. For tickets or more information call 707-588-3400 or visit www.spreckelsonline.com.
