Spreckels Theatre Company, which presents theatrical productions in two theaters at the Spreckels Performing Arts Center in Rohnert Park, Ca. was recognized with eight awards at the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle annual gala awards ceremony.
Spreckels was honored with North Bay "Entire Production" awards for outstanding excellence and achievement in theater for two of its 2015 musicals presented on its main stage and its black box theater.
The San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle, a non-profit and all volunteer organization dedicated to promoting and recognizing excellence in theater arts in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, celebrated its 40th consecutive year presenting awards to Bay Area theater companies for dramas, comedies and musicals in categories of acting, direction, production and technical crafts. Awards are given in three separate categories determined by the size of the theater.
Spreckels Theatre Company's main stage production of "The Light in the Piazza" was recognized with a North Bay "Entire Production" award. The musical production also garnered awards for Gene Abravaya for his direction; Eddy Hansen for lighting; Eddy Hansen and Elizabeth Bazzano for set design; Jacob Bronson for principal actor; and Steven Kent Barker for featured actor.
"Little Women-The Musical," presented in Spreckels' smaller Bette Condiotti Experimental Theatre, was recognized with a North Bay "Entire Production" award and Jim Coleman received an award for his musical direction of the show.
