Three short plays debut at Sonoma State University's "Power Lines: A New Play Festival with Hard Hats," each written, directed, performed and designed by SSU students.
An unusual young woman searches for the meaning of life in a dumpster located behind a convenience store in "The Cultural Significance of the Dumpster" (by Ellen Skoniecki, directed by Natasha Potts). "The Tar" (by Victoria Saitz, directed by Jasmin Lewis) follows several characters trying to make sense of a scary black substance oozing around San Diego. Set in New Mexico during World War II, "Nuclear Housewife" (by James Rich, directed by Beth Lovett), focuses on a housewife under interrogation about the murder of her husband, a physicist working on the "bomb."
All three plays will be presented at each performance.
