Sonoma State University's Dept. of Theatre Arts & Dance presents "The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek," by Naomi Wallace, today, October 16-25. Ken Sonkin directs this dark and edgy coming-of-age story. Set in a small rural town during the Great Depression, two teenagers seek adventure and escape by racing trains.
Physically and psychologically trapped in a town blanketed with despair, poverty and isolation cause several characters to unravel as a tragic, gender twisting mystery unfolds. Playwright
Naomi Wallace provides an unsentimental and uncensored portrait of the lives and struggles of the working class, frustrated by their inability to change their circumstances.
A post-show discussion will follow the 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 performance. The Friends and Family night performance is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 when SSU Faculty, Staff and Students are admitted FREE and general, senior and visiting student audiences are admitted for $5. Proceeds from the Saturday, Oct. 25 closing night performance benefit the SSU Theatre Arts & Dance scholarship fund.

TICKET PRICES: $10-$17. Admission prices to performances range from $10 to $17. Sonoma State University students are admitted free for all performances with valid ID. Tickets are $10 non-SSU students and seniors; $15 Sonoma State University Faculty and Staff; and $17 standard admission. Tickets also sold at the door one hour prior to curtain.
