Santa Clara University's Department of Theatre and Dance announced today full casting for the Mainstage production of The Good Doctor by Neil Simon. The production is directed by Aldo Billingslea and is currently in rehearsal. Performances begin on February 26 at the Louis B. Mayer Theatre (Santa Clara University, 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA 95050).

Cameron Wells as the Writer leads an ensemble of Theatre Arts students including: Nick Medal, Kaitlin Zablotsky, Michael Standifer, Taneisha Figueroa, Darrell Hubbard, Claire Parchem, Drew Descourouez, Courtney Land, Elahdio Aliaga, Kalina Venugopal in this lovely tribute to Chekhov from Neil Simon.

Aldo Billingslea, Director of The Good Doctor, says "Some of the funniest scenes I've ever experienced in the theatre are in this script, but also some of the most poignant."

In addition to Mr. Billingslea, the creative team includes Lighting Designer Derek Duarte, Sound Designer Andrew Brannon, Set Designer Jerald Enos and Costume Designer Naomi Arnst

This Broadway hit is a tribute by America's best comic writer, Neil Simon (Odd Couple, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Last of the Red Hot Lovers), to Russia's greatest playwright, Anton Chekhov (Uncle Vanya, Seagull, Cherry Orchard, Three Sisters). Neil Simon's hilarious homage centers on a playwright who shares a collection of poignant and comical stories and introduces us to some unforgettable characters. The stories are droll, the portraits affectionate, the humor infectious and the fun unending.

Tickets are on sale now, ranging from $5-$15. Purchase online at www.scupresents.org, call 408-554-4015 or visit the Louis B. Mayer Box Office in-person.
