Broadway By The Bay closes their 2017 season with the award-winning stage adaptation of one of the greatest musical comedies of all time-Singin' in the Rain. Set in the waning days of the silent film era, screen star Don Lockwood realizes the future of the film industry lies in talkies-only to find that his leading lady has a speaking voice better suited for silence. Written by comedy legends-and original film screenwriters-Betty Comden and Adolf Green, and featuring the beloved songs by Nacio Herb Brown & Arthur Freed, the stage version of Singin' in the Rain includes all of the classic song and dance numbers from the film-complete with an onstage rainstorm! Chock full of tap-dancing, Tinseltown glitz, witty dialogue, and hilarious situations, Singin' in the Rain will have Peninsula audiences laughing at the clouds, ready for love, and leaving the theater with a smile on their face. Singin' in the Rain runs for 10 performances only, Friday through Sunday, beginning November 3, 2017. Tickets (ranging from $44-$66) are available by calling (650) 369-7770 or by visiting online at www.broadwaybythebay.org.

"We've been wanting to produce Singin' in the Rain the minute we moved into the historic Fox Theatre" says Broadway By The Bay Executive Artistic Director Alicia Jeffrey. "Not only does it allow us to give our audiences a thrilling celebration of all things musical comedy, it almost feels that the theater itself is part of the setting of the show. Its rich history includes its opening as a movie house in the late 20s and being purchased by the large Fox Theater chain. The onset of talking films made the Fox chain owner, William Fox, go heavily into debt to American Telephone and Telegraph-the suppliers of the new "talkie" sound equipment. We want to take all that history and infuse it to this love letter to American cinema and dance."

The principal cast of Singin' in the Rain includes Ryan Blanning (Don Lockwood), Amanda Farbstein (Kathy Selden), Randy O'Hara (CosMo Brown), Jen Brooks (Lina Lamont), Todd Wright (RF Simpson), and Steven Anthony (Roscoe Dexter). Rounding out the ensemble cast are Kyle Arrouzet, Christina Bolognini, Chrissy Brooks-Knipp, Mary Theresa Capriles, Jonathan Chan, Maggie Kelley Connard, Olivia Cucco, Nicholas Garland, Sammi Hildebrandt, Alyssa Leonard, Chris Lewis, Daniel Lloyd Pias, Jennifer Martinelli, Noelani Neal, Phoebe Tamble, Jay Thulien, Grant Wendt, James Zongus.

The creative team for Singing in the Rain includes director Alex Perez, choreographer Robyn Tribuzi, musical director Joseph Murphy, scenic designer, Kelly James Tighe, lighting designer, Michael Ramsaur, costumes by Leandra Watson, properties designer, Eric Johnson, with sound design by Jon Hayward.

Tickets range from $44 to $66, and may be purchased by phone at 650-FOX-7770, online at broadwaybythebay.org, or in person at the Fox Theatre Box Office located at 2219 Broadway Street in downtown Redwood City. The box office is open Tuesday through Friday, 10AM-1:30PM, 3:00PM-6:00PM. On performance days, the box office is open 60 minutes prior to the start of each show, and remains open for 30 minutes following the start of the performance.
