Bay Area residents who text, tweet, and Facebook are invited to plug into our next production. An invited group of theatre fans called the Playhouse Pluggers will attend the Tuesday, May 11th performance of the regional premiere of the new comedy play Slasher, where they can text, Facebook, and Twitter before, during, and after the show.

"We're excited to bring this exciting new concept to the SF Playhouse and Bay Area theatre," says Bill English, SF Playhouse Artist Director. "Since texting, Facebooking, and tweeting have taken over our lives, we thought we'd plug into these media as a way to expose people to the power of theatre."

15 Bay Area residents will be invited guests who'll sit in special "tweet seats" for the Tuesday, May 11th 7:00 PM performance and will be welcome to share their thoughts of the production with the cyber world right from their seats. So as non-texting audience members will not be distracted, the Playhouse Pluggers will be placed in a special section of the theatre with their ring tones turned off.

Those interested in becoming a Playhouse Plugger must:
*Be 18 years or older and a Bay Area resident
*Have a working cell phone with texting capability
*Maintain on a daily basis a Facebook, Twitter, blog, or other social media account on which text messages can appear
*Get ready to have fun!

To apply, please send your name, mailing address, phone number, and links to any of your social media sites to Dan Meagher at dan@SFPlayhouse.org. 15 Playhouse Pluggers will be selected to attend (one ticket per person) on May 11th. Deadline to apply Friday, May 7th.
