The Ross Valley Players has announced auditions for its upcoming production of "Pride and Prejudice." Jane Austen's classic story, set in the Regency era, is brought to the stage in this 2005 adaptation by John Jory. Finding a husband among unsuitable suitors consumes Elizabeth Bennet's mother and sisters, while she remains independent - until she meets Mr. Darcy. Set in a society where snubs and deceit abound, the Bennet family matches pride and prejudice to reach a happy ending. Phoebe Moyer directs the production opening on Nov. 12, 2010.
Auditions will be 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept 18 and 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19 at the Ross Valley Players Barn Theatre located at the Marin Art & Garden Center, 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. at Lagunitas, Ross.
