The Unforgettable Whatshisname is a reading of an original play written by Myles Gansfried and directed by Sherry Asch. Two WWII comrades, who have lived separate lives for 55 years accidentally meet, stirring memories of youth, glory, and romance. The present, fraught with disappointments and irrelevance is no place for these ex-flyers who can't quite believe that they are not still in the gush of youth.

When they conspire to relive the past, their futures are altered by a daring, and touching venture. As the boundaries of youth and maturity are blurred we are transported to a realization of the joy of life itself. This hilarious romp was written by Myles Gansfried whose comedy, Milton and the Minotaur was a sold-out hit during the Barn's 2007 season. Sherry Asch, who directed the RTB productions of Sleuth and The Sunshine Boys as well as Milton and the Minotaur, is directing this reading of The Unforgettable Whathisname.

The Play Reading Series features readings of original works which are followed by "talk back" sessions with the playwright, director, and cast. The audience learns about the artistic process and provides suggestions to the playwright on how to improve the play. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Wine, cheese and other refreshments are served. While there is no admission charge, a five dollar donation to cover the cost of the refreshments is encouraged. No Reservations are required.
