PianoFight Celebrates 5000th Performance At 144 Taylor St. ImageLess than four years after opening its hotbed of indy art at 144 Taylor Street in San Francisco, PianoFight is proud to celebrate the 5,000th performance at the venue with PianoFight 5000, a party on Saturday, December 1st, 2018, featuring their resident 10-piece dance band Californicorns, along with guest artists. With drink specials, dance contests, and giveaways of merchandise and 2019 Season Tickets, PianoFight 5000 is a thank you to artists and audiences alike for being part of this major milestone. The event begins at 8pm with a meet-and-greet of artists/staff/audiences, music and dancing starts at 9pm. RSVP at www.PianoFight.com

Although the celebration is planned for December 1, which show will claim the title of the actual 5,000th performance remains a mystery, says Operations Director Duncan Wold, "We host or produce between 20-25 performances a week, and based on the events that are confirmed right now, we believe the 5000th event will happen the weekend after Halloween." One thing they do know is that for whichever artist(s) are on stage for the 5,000th performance, hi-fives and champagne will be involved.

Since they're not 100% sure which show will mark the 5,000th performance, the venue is planning a formal party to honor the milestone on Saturday, December 1. "We're extremely grateful to be able to say that we've done 5,000 performances in less than four years," Says Artistic Director Rob Ready. "That's a huge number of events to rack up in such a short time, and it's a testament to the prolificacy of indy artists in the Bay Area, and the audiences that are hungry to see them. Without knowing exactly when it would land, we thought a party to thank everyone seemed appropriate, and like a good time."

The free event, which includes 2019 Season Ticket giveaways, merchandise giveaways, and drink specials, is anchored by a two hour set from Californicorns, the company's resident 10-piece dance band. Californicorns, who released an album and sold out the Great American Music Hall in March for its debut, will play a two-hour set and be joined by guest artists who populate PianoFight's three stages throughout the year. Explains Ready, "This will mostly be a ripping dance party, but we're going to plug in some crowd favorites for quick spots in the show."

PianoFight 5000, featuring Californicorns, happens Saturday, December 1 at 8pm at PianoFight, 144 Taylor Street in San Francisco. More info at www.pianofight.com
