Here are some photos from The Royal Underground Theatre Company's production of Jonathan Larson's musical RENT currently playing Southside Theatre, Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, California.  Directed by Filipino stage director Jerianne Banson, RENT is part of the "In Performance" Series at Fort Mason, which has been getting support from the Grants for the Arts/San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund, and the Williams and Flora Hewlett Foundation.  The show runs 'til Sunday, February 21, 2010. 

Based on Giacomo Puccini's classic opera LA BOHEME, RENT is a Pulitzer Prize-winning rock musical that tells the story of one year in the life of eight friends who were living the Bohemian lifestyle in New York's gritty East Village.  These friends strive for success and acceptance while enduring the obstacles of poverty, and the AIDS epidemic at the turn of the millennium.  

Popular songs from the musical include "Seasons of Love," and "Without You," among others.

RENT at the Fort Mason Center features stage actors Enrico Banson, Megan Barrow, Marion Bordon, Charlotte Castillo, Luke Chapman, Jenna Davi, Molly Gazay, Jami James, Anthony Michael Knott, Kat McFadden, Chris Morrell, Salvador Real, Erica Richardson, Ruben Oriol Rivera, Alex Rodriguez, Anthony Rollins-Mullens, Jonathan Tolentino, Jujuana Williams, and Aubine Nicole Wise.
