Pittsburg Community Theatre presents Monty Python's SPAMALOT - September 28 through October 7 at the California Theatre in Old Town, Pittsburg, and October 13 & 14 at the El Campanil in Antioch.

Lovingly ripped off from the motion picture "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," SPAMALOT is an irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend. The Broadway production of this non-stop rollercoaster ride of laughs was nominated for 14 Tony Awards, winning three, including Best New Musical. The show features an eclectic musical score ranging from Gregorian chants to disco.

Fresh off her work on the company's acclaimed production of "Next to Normal," Dianna Schepers once again slips into the director's chair, bringing together a production team featuring Choreographer Anjee Norgaard-Gallia and Musical Director Dr. Luis Zuniga, professor of music from Los Medanos College. Many of his students will perform in the nine piece orchestra.

Schepers said the "audience probably knows the sketches better than most of the actors," adding "we knew we needed top notch performers to pull off the humor and we have assembled a cast whose timing is impeccable. I know the Python fans will not be disappointed."

Leading the quest is King Arthur (Kevin Burns, 3-time Shellie Award winning actor) with his trusty servant Patsy (Mariah Heath). Playing his gallant knights - and a broad assortment of other characters - are Keith Barlow, Ted V. Bigornia, Gregory Brown, and Darrien Cabreana. Leading lady duties go to Christina Boothman.

Other featured players include Terry Tracy, Phillip Leyva, Kelly Lotz and Vicki Victoria. Rounding out the cast are Kyle Andreatta-Jacques, Isabella Bishop, Taraine Jimenez, Ian Lustre, John Kopping, Brianna Peacock, Alexandria Rickli, Julie Rosch and Brian Villanueva.

Tickets are $20-$25 (senior/students - adults).
