On the heels of D'Arcy Drollinger's run-away cult hit Shit & Champagne, Oasis - San Francisco's hottest new nightclub and cabaret theater - announced today the raunchy and wild sequel, Champagne White and the Temple of Poon. In this newest incarnation, Drollinger's on-going tribute to female empowerment and low-budget exploitation films of the 1970s turns a winking eye towards the women's prison film genre, delivering 90 minutes of high-kicking action, spleen-splitting comedy and dance. Champagne White and the Temple of Poon will run Thursday-Saturday at 7 p.m. from July 16 - September 12, 2015. Press night will be held on Friday, July 17. General Admission tickets are $25. Front Row Premium tables available with Champagne purchase or bottle service start at $200 and include a front row table for four guests. Bachelor and bachelorette packages are available for a complete party evening. All tickets are on sale now at www.sfoasis.com or in person at the Oasis box office (298 11th Street, San Francisco).
When divorcee and exotic dancer Champagne Horowitz Jones Dickerson White is framed for a murder she didn't commit, she is sentenced to life behind bars at "Lady Prison", a for-profit women's penitentiary. The prison turns out to be brimming with decadence, corruption and sleaze overseen by sadistic guards and a ruthless warden. Champagne is reunited with her long-lost second foster cousin Mandy, but her solace is short lived when Mandy, like many of the other inmates, mysteriously disappears. With her appeals repeatedly denied, Champagne has no choice but to attempt a prison break. While on the lamb, Champagne must infiltrate the corrupt world of designer fragrances and do battle with her arch nemesis, perfume mogul Pixie Pardonne Moi. Armed with a never-ending array of disguises, one-liners, and kung-fu moves, Champagne must elude police, clear her name and extract revenge.
"The Temple of Poon is more than just a sequel, it is the beginning of what I hope becomes a long series for the Champagne White character," says Drollinger. "It's very exciting to be working with all of the same actors that originated these characters on the Oasis stage."
Directed by D'Arcy Drollinger with costumes by Tria, Champagne White and the Temple of Doom features some of San Francisco's most talented drag performers including D'Arcy Drollinger as Champagne White with Matthew Martin, James Arthur M., Steven LeMay, Adam Roy and Nancy French rounding out the cast.
