Actor and Producer Ronald Guttman (Mad Men, The West Wing, Lost) joins his brother, Music Director Michael Guttman and Symphony Napa Valley in narrating the gripping and rarely-performed orchestral poem of ancient origin, Genesis. Timeless works by Mendelssohn and Bloch complete the evening's spiritual journey.
"Genesis", a Symphonic Poem by Dr. Baruch Berliner, is inspired by the story of the world's creation that is described in the "Book of Books", the Bible. The work is particularly relevant in these days of tragic rifts between nations. In "Genesis", ancient Biblical stories, intertwined with music that describes them, creates a universal bridge of peace and freedom, tolerance and acceptance of others. A part of proceeds from the concert will benefit the Jewish Historical Society of Napa Valley.

Niyaz has captured hearts around the world with their touching love songs, glorious melodies and irresistible rhythms. It's a celebration of music, love, and the poetry that inspired it. Electronic world fusion group Niyaz was founded in Los Angeles in 2004 by Iranian refugees Azam Ali and Loga Ramin Torkian, along with American producer/engineer Carmen Rizzo. Niyaz's music is described as "mystical music with a modern edge". Niyaz adapts Persian, Indian and Mediterranean folk sounds, poetry and songs including the poetry of Sufi mystic Rumi, with Western electronic instrumentation and programming.
Niyaz is a stand out ensemble in a very crowded world music field. With each album, Niyaz continues to explore the music of regions around Azam and Loga's native Iran to shed light onto the plight of immigrants as well as minority ethnic and religious groups who struggle to maintain their identities. The music and message of Niyaz takes the listener on a philosophical quest into the human depths. It is a journey filled with a message of hope against injustice and oppression, a universal tribute to beauty, cultural and spiritual diversity, freedom and dignity for all. A part of proceeds from the concert will benefit Moms Against Poverty.
