Napa Valley Museum Yountville Has Reopened For Scheduled Exhibitions & Events ImageThe Napa Valley Museum Yountville, located on the grounds of the Veterans Home of California in Yountville, after a brief closure on March 9, 2018, is now open to the public on its regular schedule of Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 to 4 pm.

The Museum, which is located nearest the entrance to the Veterans Home property, was founded in 1972 in St. Helena, and has leased its Yountville property from the State of California since 1988. A nonprofit arts and educational institution unaffiliated with the Veterans Administration, the Museum presents rotating exhibits, cultural events, and educational activities, including in-classroom presentations on the art, history and environment of the Napa Valley. It is currently presenting the exhibit "France is a Feast: the Photographic Journey of Paul and Julia Child" in its Main Gallery, "The Art of Chocolate" in the Spotlight Gallery, and "Napa Valley: the Land & Its People," a permanent installation in the History Gallery showcasing highlights from the Museum's extensive permanent collection of approximately 15,000 artifacts and artworks.

The Museum reopened on Saturday March 10 with its scheduled free Family Fun Activity, which regularly take place on the second Saturday of each month. A dozen families and many visitors, several from out of state, attended the free event or toured the Museum exhibits on Saturday.

"The staff and trustees of the Napa Valley Museum Yountville are shocked and saddened by the tragic events occurring at Pathway Home, and by the loss to our community of three generous and compassionate neighbors. Our hearts go out to their friends, families and co-workers, and to the community of veterans they served," says Napa Valley Museum Yountville's Executive Director Laura Rafaty. "The Veterans Home property is a lovely, quiet place of peace and harmony, containing a close-knit community of which we are privileged to be a part. Our neighboring veterans volunteer at the Museum and attend our exhibits and events. They brighten our days with their warmth and resilience, and we hope to be a source of comfort to them, and to the Yountville and Napa Valley communities, in the days ahead."

The Napa Valley Museum Yountville is located at 55 Presidents Circle in Yountville, and is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 to 4 pm. The Museum is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural fabric of our community through exhibitions, collections, educational programs and creative activities that promote knowledge and understanding of art, nature and history.
