Brian Watson, lyricist and award winning writer in the advertising industry and David Smart, one of the most prolific composers in TV advertising in the UK, have teamed up with Broadwayworld's nominee director John DeGaetano, and Santa Rosa California based North Bay Stage Company production team to bring the musical tribute to the London stage.
Becoming Part of This Moving Tribute: The production team launched their funding site to the general public on August 14, 2018 to complete raising funds to stage the London, West End Showcase. The team states that for a limited time anyone can donate and receive cognition as a founding donor for the future of the production, regardless of dollar amount of the contribution. The event, scheduled for Spring 2019 will showcase several parts of the show and gives donors and sponsors a highlight what's to come for the full-staged production. "For over ten years David and I knew a true tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales had to be created," Brian Watson commented, "We didn't want to just entertain the audience; we want to make our audiences feel comfortable with the accuracy of the story as it unfolds before them."
