The Mountain Play reorganization comes as Sara completes her twelfth year as Executive Director, and Eileen completes her eighth year as Artistic Producer.
"I could not have chosen a better teammate and leader than Eileen Grady. She has been my thought partner for nearly a decade and has been an active participant in every Mountain Play strategic decision during that time. There is no one with more dedication, knowledge, and readiness to step up to lead this organization into the next adventure," said outgoing Executive Director Sara Pearson.
Eileen Grady was hired in 2010 after serving for two years as a member of the board of directors. She brought her extensive business skills as well as her artistic talents and experience producing plays, operas and live music and performing in multiple bands. She received her BA business administration with a minor in humanities from Dominican University, studied music, theatre and began her directing career right after college. For several decades, Eileen worked in the dual careers of insurance and the arts. She is a native of Marin County.
"I am honored to be entrusted with the leadership of this Bay Area treasure. I look forward to leading the Mountain Play team on the next leg of our journey and to continue the great work that the organization has done for the last 105 years," said Eileen Grady. "I am especially thrilled that Sara Pearson will remain with organization and that we can continue building upon on all the work we have done together since 2008."
"I wish to express my deep appreciation to Sara Pearson for her tireless and dedicated commitment to the Mountain Play over these many years and my enthusiastic support of Eileen Grady who been instrumental in the continuing success of the Mountain Play," said Board President Chris Heffelfinger. I also wish to thank Mount Tamalpais State Park for their partnership with the Mountain Play and express my hope that future generations will continue to enjoy these spectacular outdoor performances in the beauty and splendor of Mount Tamalpais."
