Montalvo Presents Annual Food & Wine Classic, 9/9  Image

Montalvo Arts Center's historic Villa and picturesque grounds will play host to its annual Food & Wine Classic, now celebrating its 15th year. Guests will sample savory and sweet fare from some of the most celebrated restaurants in the Bay Area and enjoy tastings from many of the region's finest wineries in an event that benefits more than 15,000 students, teachers, artists, and musicians supported by the Center's non-profit organization. Highlights of the evening include a high spirited live auction led by America's foremost "auctiontainer" Letitia Frye and Randall Bertao, who will be acting as sommelier in the event's exclusive VIP area. Food & Wine Classic will take place at 4:00pm, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Montalvo Arts Center, 15400 Montalvo Rd., Saratoga. In an evening that will raise funds to benefit the Center's non-profit organization, guests are invited to bid on auction packages that including once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and luxurious food and wine offerings. Also making its return to the auction will be "Bottles and Bling," with 98 winners of fine and rare wines ranging from Montalvo Trustees' backyard vineyard private labels to local winery vintages

Guests for the night will indulge in fine dining from Adega Restaurant & Pastry, Alexander's Patisserie, Alexander's Steakhouse, August (1) Five, Chez TJ Restaurant & Pastry featuring Wise Goat Organics, Farallon Restaurant, Kokkari Estiatorio, Le Papillon, Luce, Manresa Bread, and The Sea by Alexander's Steakhouse. Wines will be provided by Andrew Geoffrey Vineyards, Artesa Vineyards & Winery, Big Basin Vineyards, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards, House Family Vineyards, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, Kosta Browne Winery, Left Bend Winery, Merry Edwards Winery, Pahlmeyer Estate, and Ridge Vineyards, among others as Montalvo continues to secure additional restaurant and winery participants in the coming weeks. Montalvo Arts Center is a donor-supported nonprofit institution whose mission is to engage the public in the creative process, acting as a catalyst for exploring the arts, unleashing creativity, and advancing different cultural and cross-cultural perspectives. Located in Silicon Valley's Saratoga Hills, Montalvo occupies a Mediterranean-style Villa, built in 1912 by Senator James Duval Phelan and surrounded by 175 stunning acres. Senator Phelan bequeathed the Villa and grounds to the people of California for the encouragement of art, music, literature, and architecture, a mandate Montalvo has carried forward ever since its founding. The grounds include the campus of the Sally and Don Lucas Artists Residency Program (LAP), the Claire Loftus Carriage House Theatre, and the Lilian Fontaine Garden Theatre.
