Montalvo Celebrates A La Montmartre For 2018 Gala

For one night only, Montalvo Arts Center will transform into the iconic Parisian night club Moulin Rouge for its biennial fundraising gala, Moulin Montalvo: A Gala Night in Montmartre. The evening will include a variety of dazzling surprises as guests are invited to mingle with colorful artists and can-can dancers, savor sumptuous cuisine by Le Papillon paired with paired with Champagne Taittinger and sophisticated French vintages, and dance the night away in the historic Villa. A highlight of the evening will be a high-spirited live auction, featuring once-in-a-lifetime experience packages. Proceeds from this black-tie event will go to support the Center's artistic and educational programming efforts and ongoing mission to engage the community in the creative process. Moulin Montalvo will take place Saturday, June 16 at 5:30pm at Montalvo Arts Center, 15400 Montalvo Rd, Saratoga. The Moulin Montalvo committee has prepared a thrilling event that will raise funds to support one of Silicon Valley's premier outlets for the visual and performing arts. Exciting live auction items include will include an eight-day luxury golf expedition to St. Andrews; a tropical get-away to an exclusive Maui estate; and an intimate reception at Montalvo with gourmet dinner and private access to the upcoming Bruce Munro at Montalvo: Stories in Light exhibition. America's foremost "auctiontainer" Letitia Frye will helm the auction. An expert with a gavel, Frye has auctioneered alongside some of the most recognizable celebrities in the world including: actor Johnny Depp, musician Alice Cooper, rocker legend Robby Krieger of The Doors, and others.

While guests for the night indulge in fine dining from San Jose's Le Papillon and delectable wines, entertainment will be provided by The Money Band inside the historical Villa. This high energy and versatile band specializes in performing number one hits from the 1950s to the present and has been voted "best band" by Monterey County Weekly, and Carmel Pine Cone multiple times. The Money Band was chosen by Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley as their personal band to commemorate the 25th Elvis Presley Anniversary in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Moulin Montalvo committee consists of several tireless community members who including: co-chairs Marcia Hansen and Deborah Stolle of Saratoga and Sydene Kober of Monte Sereno; and committee members Gretchen DiNapoli and Sue Mueller of Los Gatos, Debbie Gong-Guy of Saratoga, and Gayla Wood of Los Altos.

Montalvo Arts Center is a donor-supported nonprofit institution whose mission is to engage the public in the creative process, acting as a catalyst for exploring the arts, unleashing creativity, and advancing different cultural and cross-cultural perspectives. Located in Silicon Valley's Saratoga Hills, Montalvo occupies a Mediterranean-style Villa, built in 1912 by Senator James Duval Phelan and surrounded by 175 stunning acres. Senator Phelan bequeathed the Villa and grounds to the people of California for the encouragement of art, music, literature, and architecture, a mandate Montalvo has carried forward ever since its founding. The grounds include the campus of the Sally and Don Lucas Artists Residency Program (LAP), the Claire Loftus Carriage House Theatre, and the Lilian Fontaine Garden Theatre.
