Miranda Sings is the hottest, freshest and oddest breakout star in the musical theatre/cabaret scene. Whether getting hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube or packing venues in the US and London's West End, Miranda dazzles audiences with her awe-inspiring versions of songs. Miranda will be performing with some of Broadway's and San Francisco's biggest talents, and give a very lucky guest one of her much-discussed and sought-after voice lessons.
Miranda Sings is an internet character created by a California-based theatre student Colleen Ballinger and proliferated via YouTube. Ms. Ballinger's character has enjoyed widespread popularity, particularly among musical theater fans. The character is a satire of increasingly common YouTube videos featuring mediocre or even bad singers who film themselves singing as a form of self-promotion. Miranda Sings comically off-key and pretends to take herself seriously. The character includes facial tics, particularly unusually active eyebrows and a crooked smile. She also wears lipstick drawn beyond the borders of her lips and often dances stiffly to the music she is performing. When confronted by viewers who take the videos seriously, Miranda uses The catch phrase "Haters back off." You will not want to miss this lipstick-wearing, epileptic-eyebrowed, crooked-smiling beauty as she performs her magic at The Rrazz Room for one night only!
