Marin Shakespeare Presents LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST

Marin Shakespeare Company, Marin County's professional and award-winning outdoor summer Shakespeare festival, concludes its 28th season with Shakespeare's "Love's Labour's Lost."

Noted British Shakespeare scholar Rob Clare directs Marin Shakespeare's first production of "Love's Labour's Lost." Set at Oxford, turn the turn of the century, Shakespeare's masterpiece of wordplay follows the follies of Ferdinand, King of Navarre and his three chums when they pledge to forsake women in pursuit of their studies.

Starring Livia DiMarchi as the Princess of France; Dean Linnard as Ferdinand, King of Navarre; Patrick Russell of Oakland as Biron; and Kathryn Smith-McGlynn as Rosaline. The cast also features Amy Lizardo as Costard, Christopher Kelly as Boyet; Shadi Moeini Nejad as Jaquenetta; and Braedyn Youngberg as Don Adriano de Armado.

Audiences are encouraged to bring picnics or purchase snacks at the Theatre Cafe. Warm clothing, jackets and blankets are recommended for evening performances. Parking is free.

Free pre-show and post-show conversations with a company artist or scholar are presented on select performance dates. Shakespeare Dinners are presented at 6:30 p.m. on select Saturdays for an additional $35 for a gourmet picnic and intimate pre-show talk. Wine, beer and soft drinks are available for sale, or bring your own. Shakespeare Dinner reservations are required at least two hours in advance.

Opening: 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2
Performances are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; 4 p.m. Sundays; and 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3.
Senior Day: 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 (Half price tickets for seniors $17)
Family Day: 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17 (Youth 18 and under admitted free)

COST: $10 to $37
Admission at the door is $37 general; $34 senior; and $12 youth (25 and under).

Preview performances are $15 general and seniors; $10 youth.

"Pay Your Age" is offered to audience members ages 26 to 34 when purchasing tickets at the Box Office on the day of any performance, with valid identification.

Marin Shakespeare Company also offers those 65 and over half-price tickets at Senior Matinees and those ages 18 and under admitted free at Family Matinee performances.
